Twenty years on the same block
Ken started out doing brakes and exhaust out of a two-bay garage on 127th Street and gradually traded the bays for a service van, because the work kept walking out the door — a Sprinter that wouldn't start in a hotel lot at JFK, a box truck dead on Liberty Avenue at 4 a.m., a landscaper's van with a brake line rusted through in the middle of a job.
These days it's mostly diesel: Sprinters, Transits, Isuzu and Hino box trucks, the work vans that half of South Richmond Hill runs on. The trade is the same either way — listen to what the driver says, test before you replace, and don't sell a part that isn't broken.
We're a small operation on purpose. When you call, you're talking to the person who's going to be under your vehicle, not a dispatcher reading a screen.
